This year marks a very special and exciting year in Starbucks Australia’s history… we’re celebrating 25 years Down Under!
We’ve come along way since we opened the doors to our first store in Sydney’s Hyde Park backin 2000 (pictured below).
Now, we have over 80 stores across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. And since just recently – October 2024 to be more specific – we have expanded into Western Australia, too!
There’s really no better way to celebrate such a significant milestone than with a beverage that’s become synonymous with the Starbucks name – a Frappuccino®.
Why the Starbucks anniversary 2025 is a double celebration
A quarter of a century is a big deal. But there’s something that’s been around at Starbucks for even longer than that. And it’s none other than our famous Frappuccino®.
That’s right, the blended beverage that we’re so well known for is turning 30 this year!
Ever since entering overseas Starbucks menus way back in 1995, customers haven’t been able to get enough of its blend of coffee, cream, ice and rotation of quirky yet delicious flavours.
And if you’ve started to connect the dots, you’ll know that we’re marking both anniversaries with one iconic beverage.

Meet the Birthday Confetti Ube Cream Frappuccino®
Please put your hands together for… the Birthday Confetti Ube Cream Frappuccino®! In a Starbucks-first, we’ve added ube (“oo-bay”) to the menu mix. This birthday-themed beverage contains a creamy ube-flavoured syrup blended with milk and ice. It’s got the signature Frappuccino® whipped cream on top, plus an edible chocolate Siren tail and a sprinkling of confetti for extra celebration vibes! It’s only available for a single week though! So make sure you head in-store or order via the app from July 15 (or July 17 for our WA friends) to be part of Starbucks history. But wait, there’s more…

Remember how we said we’re also celebrating 30 years of the beloved Frappuccino in 2025? Well, in double-birthday style, we’re releasing a very limited run of the Frappuccino® Plushie Strap Bag! Available online only, it’s an adorable soft toy bag in the shape of everyone’s favourite blended beverage. It features an adjustable strap, our iconic Siren logo and – of course– a whipped cream topping with a spiral of chocolate sauce.
