What is an Aerocano™?
A new expression of the Americano coffee, we’re transforming this familiar and beloved coffee through texture, movement and ritual.
The Aerocano™ is crafted through an air-whipped technique that our baristas have been carefully trained to execute. Freshly pulled espresso is aerated to create a silky layer of microfoam and a distinctive cascading effect through the cup.

Barista craft comes to life in the Aerocano™
The look and feel of an Aerocano™ all comes down to the air-whipping.
Our baristas control the timing, sequence and intensity of each step to create a silky foam cap and the signature waterfall-like cascade that settles into soft layers throughout the cup.
Air-whipping changes how coffee looks and feels by introducing microbubbles that make for a smoother mouthfeel.
What’s especially impressive is that there are no fancy machines or technology creating this effect. The craft is in the precision of the technique, executed solely by our talented partners!
How Aerocano™ is different from anything else
The moment you see Aerocano™ in motion, you’ll notice it’s unlike any other coffee on the menu.
While it shares some of the same foundations as other drinks, it’s entirely unique.
Iced Aerocano™ vs other iced black coffees
A new expression of the ever-popular Americano, this newcomer differs in some key ways. Where an Iced Americano is espresso topped with water and ice for a clean, rich cup, the Aerocano™ is defined by the barista air-whipping technique.
It’s also distinct from a Cold Brew, which is steeped for over 20 hours to create its crisp profile.
And while the Aerocano’s™ creamy mouthfeel might remind you of a Nitro Cold Brew, there’s no nitrogen infusion to be seen here. Instead, this entirely new creation is unique to Starbucks.
How to best enjoy your Aerocano™ coffee
This new Starbucks coffee is as engaging to watch as it is to sip. For that reason, we recommend ordering one when you have a moment to linger and admire the layers as they settle. Once you’ve tried the Original, give the Yuzu version a go!
