    Raising funds for MS Australia

    14 Jun 2011

Sunday the 5th June definitely wasn’t one of those “Lazy Sunday Mornings” for the Victorian partners participating in the Annual MS Walk around Albert Park Lake, raising funds for MS Australia. Along with 17,000 people and a few hundred pets who walked or ran around the 5km or 10km track, the 20 partners, with their team mascot Charlie the poodle/spaniel cross, marched around the circuit under a beautiful clear blue winter sky.

The Friday before the walk Victorian stores and store teams were decorated in red, raising awareness - and donations - for MS Australia which provides support and funds research into the treatment of people with Multiple Sclerosis.

Our store manager from City Square joined the super-fit in the 5km run at 9am, finishing less than 30 minutes later as the rest of the team gathered for the more sedate 5km walk. Forty five minutes later we all crossed the finish line, slightly windswept and ready for a coffee!

Through the generosity of our customers, donations of partners and partners’ friends and family, $2,778 was raised. A big thank you to everyone who participated on the day and also leading up to it, helping us to achieve this result.

And of course, to Charlie, for being the perfect team mascot!
